Deer Repellent Mixture
Whisk together, mixing well, 4 eggs and place them in a
plastic container in the sun (I use a milk jug with lid). Shake the mixture
daily and leave in sun for 4 days (or longer) to rot. Shaking ensures the
eggs do not get lumpy.
After 4 days, add one gallon of water and 2-3 tablespoons of
Sticker-Spreader (or any other product that causes the mixture to stick to
the leaves of the plants) and shake well. Sticker-Spreader is a Hi-Yield
product can be purchased at a garden store (Hawkeye Seed carries it).
Put on rubber gloves and pour the mixture into a sprayer (power or hand
held). Spray on leaves of plants and bushes (avoid flowers as they might
wilt). I spray in the morning or evening to avoid the hot sun.
You must repeat this every three weeks or sooner - don't go longer than 3
weeks. You need not re-apply after rain.
Best to start early Spring (April) and spray through October. The point is
to discourage the deer from eating the plants before they start to eat them
in the spring and to keep them repelled through fall.
This mixture keeps over the winter in a heated garage!
